Geolocated photo browser for 2006.09 fieldwork

The entire set of 1829 photos taken by TD, CPS and FG during 2006.09 fieldwork has been collated with precision GPS locations to produce an browseable database online. Photos are grouped by field site and each is provided with a Google Earth link - click on this and GE will warp to the photo location.

The complete set of Google Earth photo-sites are available here. Clicking on a GE site pops up a metadata table of site info, including a URL link to the photo site web page. Thus it is easy to hop back and forth between GE geolocated photo sites and their corresponding set of photos.

Canon camera calibration data

This folder contains all the data for calibrating Canon 1DsMkII with 24-105mm IS f/4 lens. Reference points are those at Institut Geographique National in Paris. Pictures were shot at different focal length so as to calibrate the entire zoom range.

Demo 3d photo analysis: Trenta transect

Experimental 3d photo modeling with PM6. 3 photos taken from Trenta low-angle delta used to map set of control points and generate 3 corresponding camera locations. Vertical prism pole used for rotation and scaling. Second set of points mapped (but not used to build 3d camera location model) to generate transect. Layers used to group two sets of points. Table of transect points copied and pasted (could not be exported) to Excel and plotted crudely. Approx size is 30m horizontally and 30m vertically. Transect nicely reveals benches in exposure that are very hard to see in photos. Successfully demonstates 3d measurement method.
